Starting tomorrow, a new all-day family transit pass will be available to families exploring St. Catharines together on weekends.
The City of St. Catharines and St. Catharines Transit are teaming up on an initiative to lower the cost of transit during the summer.
Beginning tomorrow, families traveling together on weekends will be able to use a newly-discounted all day family pass.
Families of one or two adults, accompanied by up to three children, will be able to take St. Catharines Transit at a rate of $3 a day on weekends during the summer.
"There is so much for residents to explore in our city, from a vibrant downtown to our beaches. The new price for the pass opens up those destinations to all families, including those without a car, providing a cost-effective alternative," said CAO David Oakes.
The City says the move will save money for families while reducing the amount of traffic heading to places such as local beaches.
The pass will be available on Saturdays and Sundays from May 7 to Sept. 4, 2022 exclusively through the Transit app prior to boarding.
