Welland residents will be able to get relief from the outdoors during heat alerts.
Residents will be able to cool off at the East Main Street Transit Terminal at 160 East Main Street between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
You'll need to wear a face covering, and washrooms will be open and available to the public.
Heat alerts are issued when the humidex is at least 40 degrees or higher for at least two straight days.
They're also issued when daily temperatures are expected to reach 31 degrees or higher with overnight temperatures at 20 degrees or higher for at least two consecutive days.
Seniors, young children and people with disabilities are particularly vulnerable to extreme heat.
