Fire crews called in to help retrieve man in his 30's.
Fire officials tell the Standard, they were called to the Lincoln Centre plaza yesterday to rescue a man in his 30's who had fallen asleep in a dumpster and who was poured from the dumpster into a garbage truck.
Fire Chief Adam Eckhart tells the paper the alert operator noticed the man on the truck's cameras just before he would have started the compactor.
Fire crews dropped a ladder into the truck and the man was able to get himself out.
He was not injured but was taken to hospital for an assessment.
