Police say it happened at Mountainvew Centre for Innovative Learning in Welland
Police are looking into allegations of assault at the Mountainview Centre for Innovative Learning in Welland.
They say the school uses a teacher and mental health councillor in each classroom, for children with various mental health and learning challenges.
Police were called last month about concerns a councillor was using restraint techniques outside the scope of training on a child, and investigation determined those techniques were excessive.
Yesterday, police charged 22-year old Madison Porkolab of Grimsby with one count of assault, who was released with a future court date.
Police believe there may be more victims.
