The market starts next Wednesday, every week, until the Season Finale in September
A Thorold city councillor says it's one of the best kept secrets in Niagara... the Thorold Community Market that starts next Wednesday in Beaverdams Park.
Tim O'Hare says that night will feature AbbaMania on stage, as well as BeeGees tribute on another night, along with childrens' area, and car show.
He adds the number of local vendors has grown in three years. "Sometimes just reaching out and providing them with an invitation, encourages them to come down and show their wares, with all the people that are visiting our market. It's a great event, and it's really a lot of fun."
Councillor Mike De Divitiis adds they continue to work at the market to make it work.
He recalls working on the market in the earlier days with O'Hare, and council's support. "Tim and I were flipping burgers, and had our own barbque, raising money, and donating money back to the park. Because when you want to have a market, or any business, it takes endurance and you have to be dedicated. And that's what makes us so successful."
Councillor O'Hare gives lots of credit to their sponsors to make this grow.
