Courts at Racquet Centre Open Year Round

This is good news for players at Niagara Falls location on Kalar Road

Tennis, pickleball and raquetball players now have place to play in Niagara Falls year round.

The Niagara Falls Racquet Centre on Kalar Road now has a big tent, or bubble covering the courts, after the grand opening with Mayor Jim Diodati and other dignitaries this afternoon.

Tennis Canada CEO Gavin Ziv was also there, excited for the potential.  "You can do lots of community outreach programs... we have some school programs coming in today to play some tennis.  There will be some painted pickleball lines as well, so it'll be dual function.  It's a good gathering spot for the community to do many functions."

He says Rogers Communications has been instrumental in this nationwide plan, to bring tennis to communities across Canada, with community and private partners.

He credits Rogers for its $200,000 contribution.  "The research we did in 2023, shows we have almost 5-million people playing the sport now, and 25% of kids under the age of 12 tried tennis last year."
