Weekend numbers up in Ontario and Niagara
Niagara Public Health is reporting 44 new infections today and 26 yesterday.
Meanwhile, Ontario logged 636 new cases today and two deaths, on top of the 508 cases recorded the day before.
The last time the single day tally in Ontario surpassed 600 was on October 9th.
The increase in COVID cases comes as the province ramps up its booster shot rollout.
Yesterday, seniors 70 plus, people who received two shots of Astra Zeneca, Inuit, Metis and First Nations adults and health care workers who got their second shot six months ago could begin booking an appointment to receive a booster shot.
