Construction expected to resume in few months: developer

You might have noticed an absence of workers at a large hole, a construction site, at the corner of Stanley Avenue and Ferry Street in Niagara Falls.

The city's Director of Planning Andrew Bryce says the developer's lawyer recently gave city council an update concerning construction of three residential buildings.

"He's indicated they're actually going through de-watering of the site, so they can pour a foundation there.  His expectation is that construction on the foundation can start in a couple of months," he says.

He adds there's one 14-story, as well as a 16 and 30 story.  "These are residential and mixed use developments.  Site plan approval has been granted for the 30 story site, they've started excavation for that."

He adds the other ones are still going through site plan approval, after which building permits will be applied for.
