Members vote on tentative new contract
Results are expected today on whether CUPE local 1287 members have accepted a new contract offer with the Niagara region.
A tentative deal was reached last Friday, with voting taking place yesterday.
This is their second attempt at a new contract.
They've been without one since the beginning of the year.
The union represents about 1000 workers at the region, including transportation services, infrastructure maintenance, emergency medical services, social assistance programs as well as water and wastewater management.
