Hirji concerned with spread of Delta variant
Niagara's Acting Medical Officer of Health urging the province to take a cautious approach to reopening the economy.
Dr. Hirji tweeting out yesterday the Delta variant of COVID-19 may be surging in our region.
The MOH adding he hopes the Premier applies the same caution to reopening the economy and social life, as he did around reopening schools.
This comes after Health Minister Christine Elliot commented yesterday on the Premier's hint we may reopen before Step One is set to begin June 14th
When asked what date the province is looking at, Elliot replied "I don’t have a specific date. I don’t think it would be a week earlier but it may be a few days earlier that we may be able to proceed."
