Welland Mayor Frank Campion has presented the Key to the City, to Dr. Dan Patterson.
He has been the President of Niagara College for 25-years, and now he's getting ready to retire.
Campion says Dr. Patterson has played a big role in modernizing the Welland Campus over the years.
"His leadership at the college resulted in dynamic growth in programming and facilities at the Welland Campus that provided excellent employment and educational opportunities for our community. On behalf of City Council and staff, I wish Dr. Patterson the very best in his retirement."
Dr. Patterson was honoured at last night's Welland City Council meeting.
He also received the key to the City of St. Catharines back in November.
