Canada Border Services part of operation making discoveries at Peace Bridge and Blue Water Bridge
Police have stopped more illegal drugs from entering Canada at the Peace Bridge and Blue Water bridge in Sarnia.
The Canada Border Services Agency was part of Operation Meridian, a 60-day plan over the last two months going after smugglers, examining commercial shipments.
Officers found over 108kgs of cocaine, about 350kgs of meth, also opium, tobacco and guns.
Police have charged five people, including a 25-year old from Georgia for smuggling a gun at the Peace Bridge, and a 31-year old from New York for not reporting over $93,000 in September at the Peace Bridge.
Police add that person was charged under the Proceeds of Crime and Terrorism Financing Act.
