Police say this was over threats made this morning to 8 schools, eventually deemed not credible
A scary morning for students, staff and families of 8-DSBN schools.
Niagara Regional police say they were called to the schools over threats received, however, after looking into this police say the threats were deemed as not credible.
They're calling this a case of swatting, in which a fake or hoax threat is called into police, and getting them to respond.
The schools were put in a lockdown for a while, they were John Brant, Ontario, Martha Cullimore, Peace Bridge, Simcoe Street, Orchard Park, Victoria and Richmond Street.
In an email to students and parents of the Catholic board, there were no threats to any of those schools.
