The company says many Niagara residents qualify for the free program
As winter creeps over us, you can see if you qualify for home upgrades, from Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy.
Corrie Morton is with Enbridge Gas, and says the free program is found online, not through door to door sales, leading to energy savings through upgrades.
"Some of those measures include attic, walls, basement insulation, draft proofing, smart thermostats, and appliances such as Energy Star refrigerators, freezers, windows, window air conditioning, lighting, and more."
She says thousands of people in the Niagara region qualify, including seniors on a fixed income.
The program is based on income levels. "If there's 2 people in the home, and your income is approximately $60,000, or for 4 people, with approximately $85,000... or if you receive government assistance or energy support programs like Ontario Works, or allowance for seniors."
She adds Enbridge recognizes the importance of lowering energy bills, especially in the face of repair bills, and overall inflation.
