NPCA warns of rising water levels along Lake Erie
Environment Canada has now issued a wind warning for the entire Niagara Region.
The warning is in effect for Saturday afternoon continuing into the evening.
Wind gusts of up to 120km/hr are now expected.
The weather system will impact both the Lake Erie and Ontario shorelines.
The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority tweeting out the winds will increase water levels and waves along the entire Lake Erie shoreline, with water levels peaking Saturday night around 8 p.m.
Residents living along Lake Erie should pay close attention to water levels and waves in their area and are urged stay away from the shoreline of Lake Erie during this event.
Increased erosion and flooding due to the storm surge and strong waves is likely.
The weather system stems from a cold front that will sweep through Southern Ontario tomorrow afternoon.
