Parole Board of Canada ruling they can't be there for safety concerns, lawyer says this violates their rights
In a stunning blow to the families of Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy, the Parole Board of Canada has denied them access to killer Paul Bernardo's parole board meeting.
That happens Tuesday virtually.
Their lawyer Tim Danson says they were told this is due to concern for the safety of everyone involved.
However, Danson wrote to the parole board indicating this violates their rights to be there, and is asking the parole meeting be adjourned to another day.
Danson adds if there's such a security concern, why isn't the killer back in maximum security, as opposed to the medium security he's currently at.
