Backcountry campers getting a bit of sticker shock
Ontario Parks has been running a pilot project and has been charging a flat fee for back country camping.
In the past it was $9 a night per camper, but now it’s a flat rate anywhere between $32 and $40.
Campers say that’s fine if you're in a group, but for an individual or couple it’s a big mark up.
The province says the goal is make fees consistent with their flat rate per campsite car model.
