Fiona's Arrival Expected to be Historic: Forecasters

Weather forecasts expect wind gusts to 160kms

Weather forecasters expect Hurricane Fiona's arrival tonight into Eastern Canada to be historic, with 160kms an hour wind to top that of post-tropical storm Dorian in 2019.

They say it'll hammer into Nova Scotia, Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island, then eastern Quebec tomorrow and Sunday.

Environment Canada says up to 200mm of rain is coming, and Tim Marsh, president of the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, said the storm is a ``worst-case scenario'' for many farmers who are in the middle of their harvest season.

Still a Category 4 storm this morning, Fiona is currently pounding Bermuda from the west of the island.
