They'll be at Zehrs for Project Share
The newest recruits of the Niagara Falls Fire Department need your help this weekend to raise money and food for Project Share.
Chief Fire Prevention Officer Ben Trendle says the 11 latest members will be at Zehrs on Morrison Street, all day Sunday until 5pm, accepting donations.
He says the 11 have been training since January. "They'll be placed at one of our volunteer stations in the city, either Station #4 in Chippewa, Station #5 on Sodom Road, and Station #6, Crowland... and they're all locals, you have to be a Niagara Falls resident."
He adds the graduating class is hoping to beat the amount raised by last year's recruits.
"Over the years the fire department in Niagara Falls has fostered a close relationship with Project Share, and we know that so many people in our community rely on their services for food and financial support."
He says to bring the kids for pictures with a fire truck and Sparky the fire dog.
