Taxes going up a few dollars a month for a household, but then double that when adding the region and school board portion
We're getting a better idea of what taxes you'll be paying this year if you live in Fort Erie.
Yesterday the town passed the budget for 2026, with a 3.5% increase to the town's portion of the tax bill, meaning another $4.54 a month.
However, when adding the draft levies from the region and school boards, it's up to $13.65.
The town adds its priorities are sustainable, reliable access to health care, community well-being, economic prosperity and diversity, and comprehensive housing options.
The budget will focus on investment in construction, parks and recreation, technology and cybersecurity.
