Campaign seeking $1.2 million in donations towards rebuilding West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
A campaign has been launched in hopes of raising money towards the rebuilding of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH).
The "Take it To the Finish" campaign was tasked with raising the remaining $1.2 million out of the $50 million needed from the community for the project.
At their Campaign Launch event earlier today, the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation said they are almost at the project's finish line.
"We are pleased to announce that as of today, through the Take it to the Finish Campaign we have raised $6.3 million towards our $7.5 million goal," noted campaign Chair Andrew Smith. "A tremendous thank you is extended to everyone who has given and pledged towards our local share; either within in this Campaign or the one that began in the year 2000. We are close to the finish line with only $1.2 million left to raise."
The new WLMH facility, which will be on Main Street in Grimsby, will offer increased diagnostic and surgical procedures, as well as clinical services and improved accessibility and safety.
The hospital will also be designed to meet the needs of an aging population, including private in-patient and emergency rooms.
