NRP say two gas stations held up in Welland, suspect making off with some money from one
Niagara regional police putting a gas station robbery suspect in handcuffs this morning.
Police got the call just after 4, arriving at the Petro Canada on Niagara Street in Welland, to find minutes before a man walked in, pointed a gun at the clerk, and demanded money.
The employee grabbed his own weapon to defend himself, to which the suspect fled on a bike.
Police say the man then went to the Esso down the road, did the same thing, and was able to get some money.
Soon after, police arrested the suspect in the Division and West Main Street area, finding the stolen money and pellet gun.
21-year old Justin Byford of Welland had a bail hearing today.
