One Niagara MPP is asking Premier Doug Ford to provide funding for Niagara bars and restaurants.
At yesterday's legislature, NDP MPP Wayne Gates reminded Ford that Niagara is a tourist hotspot that relies on restaurants and bars.
He says that 13 percent of all jobs in the area are tied to that sector, and recent COVID-19 restrictions introduced in the region are making it difficult for those businesses to make ends meet.
Gates went on to say that should further restrictions occur, the provincial government has a responsibility to help restaurants and bars survive.
