Gates says changing tax structure for wine and craft cider businesses would help project jobs in these industries.
Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates is calling on the province to make changes to assist the wine and craft alcohol industry on Ontario.
Gates told the legislature today that the province's wine industry is responsible for 18,000 jobs in Ontario and more needs to be done to help the sector grow.
He is calling for a change to the basic tax in the wine industry, which foreign wineries don't pay.
Gates is also calling on legislation to change the tax structure to craft cider producers in the province.
