Metrolinx says not paying the fare impacts everyone

Some changes are coming this month to GO transit service, that includes Niagara.

First, Metrolinx, the company that runs it, is going after anyone who doesn't buy a ticket.

After Labour Day, fines will increase, and repeat offenders will face progressively higher fines.

The first offence is $200, 4th offence is $500,  and 6th and subsequent offences include court summons and fines up to $1,000 on conviction.

As for service itself, starting Saturday, Lakeshore East and West weekends return to every 30 minutes, weekday midday and evening for Niagara Falls will be adjusted, that service includes Go bus route 12.
