Man suffers life-altering injuries
Three arrests have been made after a fight in Grimsby.
Around 12:37 p.m. on Sunday, officers were called to a plaza parking lot on Main Street West near Mountain Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a 37 year old Brantford man with injuries consistent with an edged weapon.
He was taken to an out of region hospital for injuries believed to be life altering.
Investigators say a fight broke out after the Brantford man damaged the exterior of a small business.
A man in his 70s witnessed the incident and was hit after he confronted him.
Two men from the business intervened, at which point the Brantford man was injured.
The Brantford man was charged with the following offences:
- Mischief Under $5000
- Assault
- Utter Death Threats
The men from the business, a 39 year old from St. Catharines and a 44 year old from Grimsby were charged with aggravated assault.
The Brantford man attended an audio bail hearing from hospital yesterday, and was ordered held in custody.
The other two men were released on bail, and court dates have been set.
Police say under the Victims Bill of Rights, the names of the suspects cannot be released, as they are also victims.
