Habitat Niagara building chairs for Athlete's Villages after constructing podiums for Canada Summer Games.
The Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games has teamed up with Habitat Niagara to build items needed for the games.
Habitat Niagara, which has over 300 volunteers, was initially asked to build two sets of accessible podiums for athletes receiving gold, silver and bronze medals.
The team is now building 24 Adirondack chairs for Athlete's Village.
The project aligned with Habitat Niagara's Community Day program, where volunteers support other community initiatives.
"We were thrilled to offer our volunteers this opportunity," said Christy Guttin, Community Engagement Officer at Habitat Niagara. "Giving back to our community, who is so instrumental in our success, is what being a true community partner means to us."
The Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games will take place August 6th to the 21st.
