Six people are facing human-trafficking related charges stemming from an investigation by the RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency.
Hamilton-Niagara Regional RCMP and the CBSA commenced the investigation in October 2018.
It's alleged that the group facilitated the entry of foreign nationals from Mexico into Ontario and Quebec.
Further investigation revealed that through employment agencies operated by the group, the individuals were illegally gaining employment in different lines of work, particularly in the Hamilton-Niagara area.
Some of the agencies were identified as Nora Services, Trillium Management and Bryan Enterprise Agency.
The RCMP and CBSA executed search warrants in the Golden Horseshoe area and discovered 80 foreign nationals residing in sub-standard conditions.
Christian Vitela of Milton and Mario Roca Morales, Cheang Kim, Miurel Bracamonte, Myriam Vitela and Nora Rivera Franco of Hamilton are due in court on March 8th to answer human-trafficking related charges.
