Highway 406 northbound lanes expected to re-open at 9:00 p.m. at the earliest.
More headaches for St. Catharines drivers who take the 406.
Northbound lanes remain closed between Glendale and Westchester, after a transport truck leaked acid onto the road yesterday afternoon.
OPP Sgt Kerry Schmidt says environmental crews have ran into problems, as some of the acid spilled has gone underneath the concrete barrier on the side of the road.
Schmidt tells us the lanes won't be opened until 9:00 p.m. tonight at the earliest.
Cleanup crews and the Ministry of Environment remain at the scene.
While the chemical spill initially caused all north and southbound lanes to close, the southbound lanes re-opened this morning.
