Niagara Health says it'll provide better images, lower radiation doses, has already been used on 2,000 patients in August
If you have plans to go to Marotta Family Hospital for a CT scan, hospital staff will be using the latest technology.
In fact, the next-generation scanner is the first installation of its kind in Canada.
Niagara Health says the new scanner provides significantly improved image quality, lower radiation doses, and faster scan times.
So far, over 2,000 patients used it in August.
Technologist Shelley Law says the upgraded equipment means less time spent troubleshooting older machines and more time on patients.
President of Niagara Health Foundation Andrea Scott gives credit to community donors who make these advancements possible.
