$2-million from Walker
It's been called one of the largest corporate donations the Niagara Health Foundation has received in its history.
The Foundation is proud to announce that Walker Industries has given a $2-million donation in support of the "It's Our Future" campiagn, to help with construction of the new South Niagara hospital.
Niagara Health says Walker Industries, a family owned company in Niagara for over 138-years, has helped over the years with the Walker Family Cancer Centre and MRI fundraising, the hospice centre, Hotel Dieu Shaver, Pathstone Mental Health, and others.
The $2-milllion will help with patient spaces, bring in the most advanced emergency, critical care, and diagnostic technology available.
The new hospital will also have a centre of excellence in stroke care, and over 470 single patient rooms.
