UPDATE: A 34-year-old St. Catharines woman has been charged.
She's facing five counts of break and enter to commit theft and 16 counts of break and enter with the intent to commit theft.
She turned herself in yesterday.
The investigation continues and more charges could be laid in the future.
Police are trying to identify a woman connected to a series of thefts at retirement homes.
Items have been taken from the rooms of residents at homes in Pelham and Welland.
Police say a woman is believed to be tied to the thefts which happened from late October to late November.
She's described as white, between 25 and 40, with a heavy build.
Detectives are asking area retirement homes to review their security footage.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
