Trudeau back after event cancelled Friday over security concerns
The Liberal leader has a stop this morning in Cambridge.
This is the first time since Friday he has campaigned in person after an event in Bolton, Ontario was cancelled because of rowdy anti-vaccine protestors.
Some of the protestors included volunteers working on the campaign of local Conservative MP Kyle Seeback.
Seeback and Conservative Party Leader Erin O'Toole both denounced their actions and removed them from the campaign team.
NDP leader Jagmeet Singh, who has also been confronted with racist remarks on the campaign trail, tweeted out, "Everyone deserves to be safe on the campaign trail. I am very sorry to hear this happened tonight to Mr. Trudeau and the Liberal team and I hope that everyone is ok."
After the event was cancelled Friday, Trudeau met with reporters saying "We all had a difficult year. Those folks out protesting, they had a difficult year too, and I know and I hear the anger, the frustration, perhaps the fear. I know we have to work even harder to be there for each other, to support each other. We need to meet that anger with compassion."
