New facility will provide adoption and humane services similar to St. Catharines location.
The Lincoln County Humane Society will soon open a new location in Thorold.
The new shelter will be located near the Welland border at the former Truck Toppers located on Highway 20.
"The LCHS is pleased to share this news with our community and municipalities across Niagara" said Kevin Strooband, Executive Director. "As we expand our footprint within Niagara, we are ready to help more animals and accept more municipal contracts."
The new 10,000 square foot facility will provide humane and adoption services similar to those offered at the site in St. Catharines.
The LCHS is currently conducting renovations, but an open house is expected to be held in the future.
Currently, the LCHS provides humane services for St. Catharines, Thorold, Grimsby and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
