A Niagara-on-the-Lake festival is about to get a boost from the province.
The Bravo Niagara! Festival of the Arts Voices of Freedom Festival and Bravo Holiday, which is scheduled to take place October 16th - December 6th, is set to receive $15,000 from the provincial government.
The festival was launched in 2015 to pay tribute to Black history in Niagara.
This is just one of 54 cultural tourism organizations receiving funds through the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund.
Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries Lisa MacLeod announced today the province will invest $4 million into the fund, providing much-needed support to the province's cultural and tourism industries.
"Ontario’s heritage, sport, tourism and culture industries were among the first and hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic - and will take the longest to recover. To support the province’s economic and social recovery, it is critical that our government continues to support organizations that are finding new ways to engage with and reconnect Ontarians, while preserving jobs and supporting local economies. Our investments through the OCAF program continue to deliver impressive cultural and economic benefits that help to strengthen our culture and tourism sectors in local communities across the province."
