Driver thanks officer for offering roadside assistance
The OPP's top cop, highlighting a recent letter he received from a local motorist who was helped by one of the force's officers.
Commissioner Thomas Carrique tweeting out a picture of the note signed by a "very appreciative grandpa."
The anonymous grandpa said he had a tire blow out on the QEW at Lake Street in St. Catharines earlier this month.
He explains he barely got to the shoulder of the road, when an OPP officer pulled up behind him and provided him and his vehicle with protection from traffic until a tow truck arrived.
Commissioner Carrique noting "The side of a highway can be a dangerous and frightening place. Thank you for sharing your story and stay safe."
