Police were looking for a stolen Toyota and golf clubs from Grimsby
NRP officers had their job made easier while investigating a stolen vehicle case in Grimsby, by the man accused of the crime.
On Saturday, police were called to a home on Robinson Street, to learn a 2019 Toyota has been stolen overnight, inside it was a bag of golf clubs.
Police say the next day the suspect posted on Facebook Marketplace golf clubs that matched the description of the stolen clubs.
Police made arrangements to buy the clubs, went to a home in Hamilton, but when the suspect saw them, he tried to jump from a 2nd floor balcony, but he was caught.
Police found the golf clubs and the Toyota, which were returned to the owner, but also keys to another stolen vehicle, a Scion. They're working to identify the owner of that vehicle.
29-year old Bekim Dzemailji of Hamilton is charged:
- Traffic in Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He remains in custody with a bail hearing with a bail hearing on Monday.
