Police found man had gun when arrested in downtown parking lot
A disturbance in downtown Niagara Falls has led to the arrest of a 31-year old Niagara Falls man.
Police were called to a parking lot in the Stanley Avenue and Ferry Street area last night at around 8:30, over a disturbance involving a man with a gun.
Once they arrested him, police found he had a loaded BB gun, as well as a hatchet.
Police say Jessie Neto De Oliveira is charged with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (2 Counts)
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon (2 Counts)
- Breach of Probation
At the time of his arrest, there was also an outstanding warrant for his arrest for breach of probation, and failing to appear for fingerprints.
He has a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
Police add no one was hurt in the situation.
