NRP say it happened early this morning on the Burgoyne Bridge
An overnight commotion on the Burgoyne Bridge in St. Catharines leading to the arrest of one man.
Police were called at around 1:30 this morning to the bridge on St. Paul West Street, concerning an armed individual.
Police learned an unknown man was yelling at another man, and threatened him with a gun.
They say a high risk take down was started, eventually arresting the man without incident, and finding he had a fully loaded gun.
28-year old George A. Ziegler of St. Catharines is charged:
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Possess Firearm without Holding a Licence
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Uttering Threats
- Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
He has a bail hearing today.
