Passerby drives stabbing victim to nearby fire station
A 33-year old Thorold man is facing a number of charges after an assault at a Thorold home.
Niagara Regional police say they responded early last evening to the Collier Road North and Stewart Avenue area.
They found three men had been in the house, where a knife was drawn and one of the men threatened with death. He was not hurt.
However, police say the other man was stabbed multiple times by the suspect, resulting in serious injuries. The victim ran from the house, where he found the driver of a vehicle passing by had stopped. The driver took him to a nearby fire station for help.
Police add as the vehicle drove off, the suspect kicked it, causing damage.
The suspect also set the house on fire, which was soon put out, but causing roughly $5000 damage.
The suspect ran from the scene, but police say he was caught on Allanburg Road South near Treeview Park, where the knife used was recovered.
Police add the three men know each other.
Charged with aggravated assault, uttering threats, mischief under $5000 and arson causing damage to property is Bruce John Robert Love, who remains in custody in St. Catharines for a bail hearing today.
