The park says it doesn't have the resources to care for its whales
Marineland is asking the federal government for an immediate infusion of cash to help feed and house 30 beluga whales.
Last week, Fisheries Minister Joanne Thompson denied Marineland’s request to send the whale to an aquarium in China.
Marineland says its only option is to relocate the whales or euthanize them.
The former tourist attraction has been up for sale since 2023.
In the letter sent to Thompson on Friday, Marineland says it is out of resources to provide adequate care for the whales.
