The Alzheimer's Society will benefit from McDonald's Coffee Day next week
You'll soon be able to enjoy a coffee for a good cause.
The Alzheimer's Society of Niagara Region is one of the charities that will benefit from McDonald's coffee day.
On September 21st, which is World Alzheimer's Day, 50 cents from every premium roast brewed coffee and tea sold at participating locations will go to the charity.
"Currently, there are no known interventions that will cure Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, but support, education and information about what to expect on the dementia journey help families develop the skills and confidence to live well and independently longer. The demand for our services is constantly increasing" says Teena Kindt, CEO of the Alzheimer Society of the Niagara Region.
The following locations are taking part:
- 153 Lincoln Street, Welland
- 631 Niagara Street, Welland
- 7275 Oakwood Drive, Niagara Falls
- 7481 Oakwood Drive, Niagara Falls (Walmart location)
- 569 Main Street West, Port Colborne
Currently, about 11,420 residents in Niagara live with dementia.
