MPPs Condemn GO Service Reduction

GO Transit website

This has to do with service reduction to and from Niagara Falls, which returns in spring

The reduction of GO train service to and from Niagara Falls raising the ire of two area politicians.

Metrolinx has announced starting Tuesday weekday service at 9am, 1pm and 8pm will no longer run, but that's temporary until the spring.

The changes are due to seasonal adjustments aligning with service demand, shifting crew around to meet demand, and there's train work needed in some areas.

St. Catharines NDP MPP Jennie Stevens says after almost a decade of asking for more service, this is taking 10 steps back.

Niagara Falls NDP MPP Wayne Gates echoes that, adding while other areas get track built, Niagara gets service cuts because the work is not done.
