Wayne Gates says parents in Niagara are frustrated with products aimed at children
Two provincial politicians working to put a stop to vaping by children.
Niagara Falls NDP MPP Wayne Gates and the NDP health critic France Gelinas are co-sponsoring Bill 125, the Vaping is not for kids Act, and it's passed first reading.
Wayne Gates says he hears from parents and teachers all the time in Niagara how frustrated they are that vaping products are aimed at children and teenagers.
He adds he's grateful for the decades of work to increase awareness of the dangers of smoking, but more is needed.
The NDP say a over a quarter of high school kids in Ontario vape, and in 2023 Quebec banned flavoured vaping products to toward youth.
