Ontario's opposition demanding the province to stop corporations from forcing people to pay anything for a rapid test.
Ontario's NDP is speaking out following reports that Walmart is forcing a minimum purchase amount in order to receive a COVID-19 test.
According to the retailer's website, rapid antigen tests are available with a minimum grocery pickup order value of $35.
The party is calling for the Ford government to stop all corporations from forcing people to pay anything to get a rapid test.
"What we need is free access to an important health care tool," said NDP Deputy Leader Sara Singh. "Not free-with-minimum-purchase."
Earlier today, Health Minister Christine Elliott announced the Ontario government would distribute 44 million free rapid COVID-19 tests to grocery stores and pharmacies throughout Ontario.
