The region says this is part of its 10-year Facilities Master Plan
It's officially open... the new Niagara EMS Prince Charles Drive station in Welland.
Niagara EMS says this is the first part of its 10-year Facilities Master Plan to be finished, as it works to make emergency medical services in Niagara better and stronger.
Niagara's population keeps growing and aging, increasing the demand for EMS.
The 10-year plan was endorsed by the region in February 2025, one that places paramedics closer to where they are needed, using a hub-and-spoke model, with larger stations strategically placed around the region.
This was the Prince Charles Fire station, rebuilt to support Niagara EMS.
