Spending is up
Niagara Catholic's Board of Trustees has approved a $279 million budget for 2022-23.
The board says spending is up by $11 million dollars over last year to include more mental health supports as well as help for students with special needs, with reading and math, indigenous education and COVID recovery.
Director of Education Carmen Cipriano says "We believe that this budget addresses the needs of the system for the coming year, and we will continue to monitor and review spending and adapt as necessary to address any changing needs that may emerge."
