Funds will be used to support cannabis, craft beer and manufacturing research.
Niagara College is getting $4.43 million over two years from the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
NSERC's College and Community Innovation program has announced three new Applied Research and Technology Partnership funding grants for the college.
The school says one of the grants will support a project focusing on sustainable cannabis and hemp production research.
The other grants will support Niagara College-led projects to support Canadian craft breweries and the expansion of the Southern Ontario Network for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation.
