The Lincoln County Humane Society has charged a Niagara Falls man with five counts of animal cruelty.
Officials say a cat was shot with a BB gun last month.
NRP officers brought it to the LCHS Animal Clinic, where it remained in critical care for days.
After more then $2,500 worth of veterinary care, the cat has almost made a full recovery.
He now goes by the name Baxter and he will be available for adoption.
The man will appear in a Welland courtroom in early December. His charges include causing and permitting distress and failing to provide care for an animal.
