Residents are encouraged to shut their lights off from 8:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. tomorrow
The City of Niagara Falls is participating in Earth Hour tomorrow.
From 8:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., non-essential lighting will be turned off at City facilities.
The nightly illumination of Niagara Falls will be paused as well, but street lights will stay on.
Residents are encouraged to participate by shutting their lights off for an hour.
Earth Hour has taken place every year since 2007, in an effort to raise awareness of environmental issues and encourage people to show support for the planet.
